Basic Fits Inspo

We'd like to clear the air regarding the post about our brand, Novyy Mir, not shipping an order.

Posted: 27 Nov 2016 10:18 AM PST

Recently /u/kirbsy made a post about us not shipping out his knit sweater. He was correct when he said the original shipping date was sooner because we changed it after the order deadline for that month was up.

We were a three man team and we each had different jobs. Recently we had to ask one of our team members to step down. The member we asked to leave was in charge of our email, social media, and shipping. We took a look at our instagram a little less than two weeks ago and realized he wasn't posting anything. Our dm had multiple emails about late orders with no response.

After seeing how poor of a job he was doing we decided we couldn't have him continue to work on the brand. We told him he couldn't be a part of the brand anymore so he changed the password to our instagram and email. We were able to sit down with him Tuesday morning and resolve the issue.

/u/kirbsy's package was shipped out by me yesterday and we shouldn't have anymore problems with shipping. We apologize sincerely to /u/kirbsy and to anyone else who may have had an issue.

Something that I think needs to be said

Posted: 27 Nov 2016 08:47 PM PST

I stopped looking at this subreddit for a while because every time I did, I would see the same shit. It's like a person is only rocking streetwear if they're wearing a certain brand or type of garment or pair of shoes etc. Not everything you wear has to be a name brand, a designer or something you saw somebody else wearing. Instead of focusing on the petty details of clothing, we should all start focusing on the things that are most important when it comes to getting dressed - putting together an outfit that feels good, looks good and wasn't copied from the internet or taken off the mannequin.

It's important to remember that all people are different. Height and weight are not the perfect indicators on whether something will fit you or not. Body shapes and sizes can still be different. When it comes to buying clothes, it's unrealistic to think you will look as fresh as the dude who modeled all the clothes you just bought. That person was literally hired to wear a bunch of clothes and make other people want to purchase those clothes. And that person was probably styled from tons of different clothing options with all different sizes and colors. Basically what I'm trying to say is, don't get caught up with imitating a certain look or person. Something that looks good on somebody else isn't guaranteed to look good on you. People should wear clothes that fit them well. It's very obvious when a person wears something they aren't comfortable with and it never looks good.

Asking for confirmation on an outfit or a particular piece is different than completely imitating somebody's style or outfit. Inspiration albums are fine too, until everybody starts wearing the exact same outfits. So don't be over-influenced and just wear the shit you want to wear. At the end of the day, if you wanna dress like a hype-beast with no style that's up to you.
