The Triple Black: An Ultra-Basic Outfit Formula. Posted: 28 Feb 2017 05:29 PM PST I've been thinking about making a post for a while and felt as though the /r/Streetwear subreddit has become severely slanted towards simply showing off outfits. Which is great, don't get me wrong, you guys/gals look great! What a good lookin' bunch! But there's been a lot of practice and not a lot of theory - So this here is my attempt at an easy guide for beginners outfit making with what I call The Triple Black. TL;DR: You cute af. Here is a formula. Plug-and-Look-Good. Album below. So The Triple Black is the name i've given to a very basic outfit formula. Black shoes, Black pants, Black Hoodie/Tee. This allows you to then throw on a statement-piece top and look good regardless of what its specifics are. For the examples below, I used Black Chuck IIs, Levis 511s, and a black Gildan hoodie. These could be substituted for any black shoes, any fitted black jeans, and any black shirt/hoodie. Very versatile, but the Chucks/Levis/Gildan is my go-to - plus it's cheap! I'd wear my Yeezys, but they go to another school so you won't ever meet them but I have them I promise. So, feel free to peruse the album Here, buddy boy. Proof is in the pudding I guess. At the end of the album there's a few shots showing that so long as your top and pants are black, you can toy with the colour palette of the overwear and shoes as you like. Demonstrated are matching colours, contrasting colours, and complimentary colours. Let me know how I did! I have a few more basic ideas to share if there's interest.
