We recognize that r/streetwear is a large platform and has the ability to showcase brands to a wide varied audience of people. We would like to reserve this platform for people who contribute and give back to the community and don't just see r/streetwear as an ad board.

Marketing and advertising is permitted ONLY for active community members and is subject to approval.

Advertising is permitted for consistent contributors in the r/streetwear community. Consistent contributor activity includes:

  • Constructive comments on other user's posts (comments made on your own posts do not count)
  • Activity in megathreads
  • Non-advertisement submissions

All marketing efforts from users with minimal activity in the subreddit are prohibited and will be removed.

These contributions can be made on a personal or business account.

NO NFTS, NO EXCEPTIONS

Maybe I'm tripping, but a few years ago, maybe 2014-2019ish, you could find damn near any shoe on Ebay. The most obscure shoes would pop up on there at some point, even if not in your size. Puma has a collaboration with a furniture designer from Prague? Just wait for it, it'll be there soon. Looking for those Adidas that released a few years ago featuring prints from dada artists? Dig a little, they're up there. Reebok has a shoe that was a tie-in with a cheesy B-movie? Yep, someone has them up. Back then, if it didn't hit Ebay, you could bet on a Grailed or a Stock X.

Now it seems there's no hope in getting almost anything anymore unless its a Nike, Yeezy or Jordan. Ebay is all but dead, Grailed doesn't seem as active as it once was and Poshmark/Depop mostly has popular shoes. Sometimes I open up Ebay, begin to type in that obscure sneaker collab and just stop and ask myself why I even bother.

Is this a thing, or am I creating a false narrative here?
