Need help finding brand. It’s a Chinese based Remake clothing brand & I instantly fell in love with there work. I’ve tried to look them up but best I can find is TaoBao and nothing on there really tells you about the company. If any Chinese folk can help me out I’d be greatly appreciated. Thanks

I recently discovered the Vitaly Proxy and I wanted to see if anyone in the sub might know where I can find a similar ring for a more affordable price? Sorry if its not the right sub but i felt like people in here would know.

Review: The Best Guidi Alternative - Walker Vietnam 801B

I didn't clean the boots or anything before posting. This is what they look like after a month of wear.

This isn't a sponsored post or anything. I paid for these with my own money https://i.imgur.com/VIuLVYB.png. I wasn't offered anything in return for a review.

I discovered them in the Story et Fall Facebook group. The price for the boot is $157USD, however the international shipping without the box is about $87.50USD. The shoes still come packaged in a box to protect it during shipping. The total ends up being just under $250USD. You purchase through Instagram or Facebook unless you're in Vietnam. Just send a DM to them and they will reply relatively quickly. They have a wide range of boots that are basically modeled after CCP and Guidi. They're doing some Tabi boots now too.

I wouldn't consider these to be direct reps because there's no Guidi branding or anything. It uses totally different materials too but, it's completely emulating that style. I liken it to Story et Fall or From the First and their interpretation of Wyatt boots. It's an affordable alternative to those styles without going to reps. (and the reps of Guidi boots apparently aren't that great anyway. You can find reviews for them in the replica subreddits.)

Shipping was weird, they're based in Vietnam but, the package ships from Singapore. They say it's because they have a contract with a shipping partner that ships to Singapore first. Here's their direct reason why. https://i.imgur.com/UJOwn0S.png They arrived about 2 weeks after I initially bought them. This is delivered to Texas. I purchased on April 2nd, they were picked up in Singapore on April 12th, and delivered to Texas on April 14th. It was delivered via Fedex Express. https://i.imgur.com/NBs76N2.png

Sizing: I am a 11-11.5US. I have a very wide foot. The length of my foot is about 27.5cm(10.8in) and 99mm(9.9cm/3.9in) in width. That correlates to a size 44 which is my usual size in boots. For reference I wear an 11 US in Jordan 1s, a 45 in Margiela GATS, an 11 in Converse Chuck 70s, an 11.5 in Salomon XT-6s, and an 11 in Doc Martens. They have a sizing guide on their website that translates if you use google chrome. https://www.walkervn.com/2020/05/huong-dan-o-size-chan-va-chon-size-giay.html The boots do stretch. I had a really hard time putting them on the first time because i'm overweight and they were very tight in the vamp but, the more I tried to put them on with socks of varying thickness, the looser they became and now it's really easy to just slip them on and off. It's just that I have tree trunk legs and wide feet so, I need to wear thin socks. How easy they are to get on really depends on the sock I'm wearing. I did apply some liquid mink oil to them so, that may have helped in the break in process. If you find that it's tight in the vamp don't put the insole in. Your foot will get stuck and it will be extremely hard to take them off. I did that once and it took me an hour to get them off.

They have a 40mm heel so, you get a little boost in height.

The soles come Vibram'd which is nice.

The sole is full leather and the heel is stacked leather.

The zippers jingle and jangle when you walk around. These are very similar to the zippers that Guidi uses. https://i.imgur.com/bEJ09zp.jpg

Inside the box is just the boots, two insoles, and a tote bag. Anyway, you buy these because you can't afford Guidi but, you s till want those Guidi stacks and these really deliver on that front. They do not deliver on getting textured object dye color variation. They're not horse leather just regular calf leather. It feels very supple. The leather immediately starts to roll and stack once you put them on and it's already rolling before you put them on. Here is a gallery of people wearing them: https://imgur.com/a/eAUjSFy You can really see the stacking on thinner bodies but, bigger bodies still get that effect just slightly less so.

I've never felt Guidi's horse leather in hand nor have I ever seen Guidis in person but, from pictures online, these nail what you want from Guidis. I believe these are based on the 788z. They have some based on the PL2, 310, and some other models. The main thing you hear about Guidi is their amazing quality leather and their object dying process. I don't believe these use object dying and they don't use horse leather. Despite all of those differences I feel that these are really well put together boots. They feel sturdy. The leather feels of quality and doesn't feel flimsy or like it's going to tear or give out. It's not plasticky what so ever. The zipper feels hefty, not cheap. They're also blake stitched and come with Vibram attached from the factory.

My complaints are that they're not super comfortable but, they're heeled boots not cushy sneakers so, I don't expect that. I can wear them for several hours with some foot fatigue. I wouldn't want to stand around walking in these for an entire work shift. I would also like a little bit less bulbous toebox. The zippers will come down when I walk but, that's my tree trunk legs fault.

Overall, they're good boots. I really like them. I wish I could wear them more but, it's so hot in Texas. You get the stacks from Guidi that conform to your foot. They're not direct 1:1 replicas but, that's okay because they're good boots in their own right. They achieve what they set out to achieve. The price to quality ratio is great. When you consider that these are $157 USD, then the quality you get is fantastic. Especially when you consider other shoes and boots made in that price range such as Doc Martens.
