Trying to get into streetwear, but it's too expensive

Posted: 16 Aug 2017 10:32 PM PDT

I've recently really been getting into streetwear. Past year I've been wearing a sort of mish-mash of streetwear/skater/hipster type clothing and now I want to go the next level and fully delve into streetwear. My issue is; streetwear (and especially techwear which is like a dream of mine to one day wear) is just too damn expensive. Would I get "shunned" by the streetwear community if I wore no-name brands just for fashion purposes? Just wondering.

DONT EVER ORDER FROM HouseOfTreLi

Posted: 16 Aug 2017 08:07 PM PDT

Horrible business. A LEGIT WEBSITE, NOT A 3RD PARTY PAGE. They're shit. Here's why:

I've done A LOT of research over the last few weeks and it's been able to back me up. I made an order back in early June, which was a sold-out MNML.LA hoodie. It was $80 CAD, which I used a discount code.. it was a steal for what it was. (Shipped from U.K.)

Upon purchasing, I waited 2 weeks (when it's supposed to ship after 1..)

I messaged them on twitter/IG, and they played stupid with me.

"It didn't ship yet?!" "I'll contact my people in LA when they're back from lunch!!"

It was a huge waste of my time. Fast forward to mid July; I message them again. They then tell me to do a charge back? Which is going to take another 2/3 months. They used a 3rd party service called "world pay."

One of the most frustrating sales experiences ever, which was a site that many popular people follow. (Podolski, soccer player etc)

DONT EVER DEAL WITH THEM. They're crap; their customer service is garbage, and if you search up their name on twitter, a lot of people haven't even received confirmation from March. Somebody had to wait a year for a refund. I got blocked for calling them out on twitter, so that's that. If somebody says something on their IG, they delete the comments.

Just giving you guys a heads up! Utter disappointment.

copenhagen fam!!!!

Posted: 17 Aug 2017 04:02 AM PDT

i recently took a trip with some of boys to copenhagen to basically just drink since in denmark the legal drinking age is 16 yeet. and we went to this kind of "shopping street" thing called Strøget, they had SLP, LV, Gucci, and a big ass mall thing called Illum which had stores like Balenciaga, SI, AW etc. shit was sick!

NOW TO THE POINT I saw a lot of guys there wearing the sickest fits i've ever seen, every single one of the fits was like 10/10 Instagram material, so all my danish redditors, post your best fits. your boy need some inspiration!

Ksubi gave me free jeans and idk why

Posted: 16 Aug 2017 03:12 PM PDT

Disclaimer: This is difficult to explain, and as a result is difficult to understand. If anyone can better explain or say why this happened, please do!

Important Edit: I was charged sometime last night, like the people in the comments suggested. If anyone has a similar issue, you will eventually be charged! Please read what I had to say, so the same thing does not happen to you.

Everyone on this sub probably feels the urge to buy $200 pants on occasion. (That's why we are here) Naturally, after I recieved my paycheck, I purchased some Ksubi jeans to satisfy myself. (Chitch Laid Black) At first, the purchase seemed to be nothing out of the ordinary. I recieved the email thanking me for my purchase, and I saw the pending charge on my bank account. Eight days passed, so I emailed support asking if there was an issue processing my order. Minutes later, I recieve a response from an employee saying that they changed their shipping system to be more accurate, which sacrificed the speedy service. Understandable. The next day, I recieved conformation that my order had been processed and would be shipped soon, so I checked my bank account to see if I had been charged yet. This is where shit gets a little weird. The pending charge is literally gone. I can't find it anywhere, which is what happens when a payment is retracted/canceled. I emailed Ksubi support, inquiring about the situation and asking them to fix it if anything is wrong, because I was worried that I would not recieve my order. I get a response after a few hours, saying I would be charged when my order was shipped. I think to myself "It is weird that this is happening, but support says nothing is wrong, so it should turn out okay." (Heavily paraphrased lmao) Yesterday night I recieved the shipping conformation, along with tracking information for my order. However, one thing is missing: the fucking charge to my bank account. I have not re-contacted them at this point, but my order is currently on a plane from Australia, and I don't even have a pending charge, let alone actual money missing from my bank account. This is an error on their part, I am impatient and will be charged when it arrives to the USA, (Which doesnt make sense. Why wouldn't I be charged when it left their facility?) or it was compensation from a nice employee for the wait I have had. (Which also doesn't make sense, because they would have told me they were giving me free shit, right?) The most likely of the three is that they made some kind of mistake, but what could have possibly happened? Does anyone have any clue as to what happened, or a similar experience?

Asian inspired brand beginning with M? UK online I think

Posted: 17 Aug 2017 05:49 AM PDT

I found this brand a while ago, believe their name began with an M, was on a spreadsheet of streetwear stores. Possibly UK based. They sold a face mask and various other bits with their brand name on. Vague as hell but I'm hoping someone can help or provide links to some spreadsheet lists so I can try find it.

[Discussion] Yeezus or Pablo?

Posted: 17 Aug 2017 01:56 AM PDT

Hey guys

I'm about to hit the ye button with my first ever purchase of any of his clothes. But idk whether to get his Yeezus merch or his non tour Pablo merch. Can I have reasons such as, quality, average resale price point, fits, amount of clout (flex) generated by different pieces? amount of fakes etc?

Thanks very much
