I wanted to celebrate with a unique looking piece and after looking through so many different websites and clothes, I just can't find anything that I find appealing and unique. I found a cool Alexander McQueen sweater but it sold out before I was able to pick it up.

Colorblock, solid, stripes, tribal, graphics. The cuts, the material. Everything is just starting to look like similar and I can't find anything that sticks out. Baggy pants, skinny pants, technical pants, joggers, it's all starting to lose its appeal. Maybe I've just been looking at fits and clothing too much.

[Announcement] Outfit challenge #11 - Two Of The Same | 13/02/2018

Welcome to the weekly Outfit challenge, last challenge WDYWT thread for it can be found here.These challenges will be returning each week with a different theme.

This week's theme is Two Of The Same

Rules:

  • You need to wear 2 of the same meaning either 2 identical pieces (like a tracksuit) or two pieces in identical colour.
  • For obvious reasons white and black do not count towards the challenge but are still allowed in your fit.
  • You have to own all the clothing on you. No dressing room pictures.
  • All rules of WDYWT apply, including points towards whitelist.

This is a small-sized "deep web core" inspo album I put together. If you haven't heard of DWC, here's a little something from /fa/:

"A style focusing in on the anti-social aspects of too-heavily consumed internet media and knowledge of or participation in the dark-web community.

Apparel often borrows the anti-social aspects from the internet "tech wear" community while emphasizing the comfort of thrifted and oversized coats and track jackets, worn in ill-fitting jeans and casual pants, and dark sneakers or boots.

Main points of focus are an anti-social public impression, agoraphobic tendencies, crass or inappropriate public activities influenced by internet communities, heavy drug use of any/multiple types, and downright federally observed criminal behavior..."

To wrap it up, its tech-wear with an emphasis on the hackerman LARPing. Even though it may seem corny, it's something worth noting as it seems to follow larger trends of cyberpunk/late 90's - early 00s hacker/tech-wear.

Is anyone here either currently working in the fashion industry, or has gone to fashion school? If so, what have you experienced been like, and what is life like in the industry?

I'm currently in high school and am beginning to feel the pressures of questions such as, "What do you want to be when you're older?", or "Where do you plan on going for college?". Subjects such as math and science and stuff really don't interest me, I have a great passion for music and fashion, and was wondering if anyone is currently working in the industry, or has any advice for me, on planning on going into a fashion school, or something of that sort.

Teenager who's new into dressing well needs a lot of help

Hey, after pretty much being an ugly awkward guy for the first 16 years of my life, I decided to change that a few months ago by getting a haircut, hitting the gym etc. and obviously dressing better. Being a complete idiot, I fell in love with sneakers immediately and wasted a lot of money (for my age) on them. Lately I've realized that good looking shoes still make me look ugly, which is why I need some help:

rn I have just a small collection of standard items: a black parka, tons of white/black shirts, a few flannels and a few pairs of black h&m skinny jeans. My shoes are white stan smiths, black old skools, grey nmd r2s and black ultraboosts (white sole). I imagined the following fits:

  • red flannel, white shirt, black jeans, old skools
  • black parka, black/white shirt, blue jeans, nmds with white socks
  • parka, shirt, joggers, ultraboosts
  • these three varying (using different shoes, flannels etc.)

To make that possible, I'd need the following (keep in mind that I'm not really trying to be creative, just trying to look decent) - something to wear over an unbuttoned flannel (I really didn't find what you should wear over that) - blue jeans, preferably good for pinrolling (I thought of levis 511, but I really don't know which cw would be the best or which kind of fit) - a pair of joggers which preferably aren't those boring ass 3stripes ones because I don't want to look like I fucking love adidas

As I live in a pretty small city in germany with no actual options to getting those things and I admittedly have no creativity, it would be great if you could tell me specific items which would fit these and not just say stuff like "oh yeah just look at your local urban outfitters and try everything out".

Thanks so much already and sorry if this is a pretty shitty post, but I really don't know how to get help otherwise (I thought about posting on mfa, but they'd propably want me to switch my nmds for some chelsea boots so nah)
