[DISCUSSION]StockX/UPS lost $3K Louis bag I sold Posted: 12 Sep 2018 07:47 AM PDT Posted this to /r/ sneakers but the mods removed it this morning so maybe this subreddit will care more about this info I've sold a bunch of shoes and designer items through stockX. Recently sold a Chapman Louis Vuitton bag and some yeezy's and supreme items. Stockx contacted me today and told me they received the box, but the bag was not in it. They want to open a case with UPS... So instead of getting my $3000 pay out I'm dealing with this. Anyone else had anything like this happen? I sure hope stockx will get my money to me, I never even planned on selling that bag. I'm not very optimistic right now. EDIT: so it sounds like stockX may have already started sending info to UPS to open an investigation, and they're just slow with the support emails. Sounding more like something happened on UPS' end, I don't know how easy it would be to take something as a stockX employee EDIT 2: pic of the bag before I sent it out. EDIT again: thinking more about it, seems like it was probably someone at UPS who opened and then repackaged the box. Just weird that stockX got the empty box instead of nothing at all. I think I've read of similar stuff happening at stockX' phx location last week.. EDIT... again: we may have already done enough, stockX actually just emailed me back with this . Hopefully I have good news tomorrow. Some last minute thoughts before I go to sleep: Even though it was probably someone at UPS that took it, I've gotten a few responses in here from people with similar stories where it took 2-3 weeks to receive compensation from stockX. That seems like an unfair amount of time, hopefully they will realize how much they can gain in seller confidence by improving that timeframe. Also, stockX receiving empty boxes of sneakers, streetwear and designer goods shipments sounds like it's becoming a fairly common problem, really sucks as they have been really reliable for me personally in the past. I'll update tomorrow when I hear more from stockX. EDIT: Link to the original sneaker post, now locked, for what it's worth. Wednesday AM update: not much more to report this morning, just a response to a support ticket I made telling me to check back Friday, hopefully they stick to the 24 hour timeframe they mentioned in this email Afternoon update: still nothing today, only that email telling me to check back Friday. I wish stockX was better at passing information along. It's like texting an unreliable friend. The email from last night was sent at 9-10 pm and promised a 24 timeframe. Not looking very likely today... Also, sorry for any drama caused, I didn't mean to bother anyone. I guess I thought you all might be interested in issues with selling via stockX and how their customer service goes with this. Might help some of you decide if you ever want to use them or not, idk. Posted: 13 Sep 2018 03:29 AM PDT I need some help in writing an argumentative essay about the good effects of Yeezy's being released in larger quantities. The two things I am trying to prove in my essay are that: by being more available to consumers, the Yeezy shoe line can get a bigger consumer base than of now, and that if more Yeezy's are being sold, it can surpass the sales of Jordan Brand, in time. What do you guys think about this? How can I relate this to supply and demand economics for school? [link] [comments] | ||

[DISCUSSION] Anyone here have experience at FIT, need some HELP Posted: 12 Sep 2018 02:39 PM PDT Going to post this long story, tl;dr at the end. whats up ill try to keep this short but it might get a bit rambly... I always got great grades in high school, so I always thought I had to go to college, get a degree, then get a decent paying job and thats it. Thought that I would be looked down on if I didn't. I was never really into fashion until later in high school, but still never imagined doing it as a career. I only applied to 2 colleges, didn't get into Columbia, so I left for Stony Brook, majoring in computer science. never coded before that, but I told myself id be getting paid great money and I could work in the city when it was done. Got good grades my 1st 2 semesters (3.7 gpa, A in CSE) However, I'm not really sure I want to be coding for a living, the coding I'm learning is for hardcore software development and thats for sure what I don't want to do. I realized I could die at 25 and not be doing what I loved, whats the point in that. Money only gets you so much, and I'm sure the money could eventually come in fashion if I really stick to it. I've recently really got into fashion. Started youtube, coded my own website (this had nothing to do with my major, our CS program is good, but doesn't teach web development so I plan on learning this on the side anyways), and making some clothes of my own. I go to the city all the time, recently for nyfw and I really do think its what I want to do, especially getting right into the city. Its not as stable as a computer science degree, but I hate Long Island and don't know if I should just drop Stony Brook and attend FIT or Baruch in the Spring for fashion business, or just fashion. Im confident in whatever I do, but I really need some advice. Fashion is something I can do for hours and I love the design process. my dream goal is to get a little "clout" hate that term, and start a creative outlet / brand. One problem I think I have is that I compare myself to people doing great things in fashion at a young age, which is why I don't want to be "wasting" my time in long island, when I could be in the city networking and making a name for myself. I'm 18 and want to get out there a do some cool stuff, I sometimes think Its longing for success and wanting to be like some famous people, but I genuinely like getting out there and meeting people, collaborating, etc. My argument for staying in CS is that I can continue fashion on the side, and having the CS background allows me a different way into the industry. (web development internship at Grailed, etc.), but id probably abandon it as soon as I got a foot in the door and if you aren't constantly learning in CSE , the degree goes to waste. I can answer more questions if need but id love some feedback. Asked this in life, but I figured fashion sxn might have some stuff to say about FIT and the industry. tl;dr going to stony brook for computer science, don't know if I should transfer after 1.5 semesters (can finish in 3 more) to FIT / Baruch for Fashion Business Management or stay at Stony, then move to the city.[link] [comments] |
