On the topic of whitelisted outfits

Posted: 03 Feb 2018 10:31 PM PST

Recently, there have been posts almost every single day with the same few messages:

Whitelisted users post fits with pieces that have exorbitant prices nobody can afford, or nobody is willing to pay

or

These pieces are so rare that nobody can find them

and

These fits are so fucking outrageous, nobody would wear this in real life, this sub should be about what genuinely wear people wear everyday, not cosplay

People are seriously discussing the concept and bringing up the topic of what is and what is not streetwear nowadays.

While it is definitely true that the current fashion trends lean towards haute couture and to an extent, more formal garments, in my opinion streetwear has always been youth culture, never a certain look.

People upvote things they see are different from their daily lives. Nobody desires to look at the same shit ever time. Nobody wants to see what they can go to the local mall and see around them.

Look at what's popular on TV right now. Keeping up with the Kardashians. The Bachelor. Hell's Kitchen. You're not looking at your own everyday routine life on there.

Most of the whitelisted users genuinely dress like that everyday. Some of yall are really insecure and have never stepped out of your comfort zone. That doesn't mean you need to dress full rick everyday. You can simply change a few aspects, wearing a different color, or trying out new silhouettes.

There certainly is a halo effect on these insane outfits. They mostly serve as inspiration to people or "thats amazing but I'd never do that" as not many are willing to wear what they would deem out of place.

I know I excluded a lot of whitelisted users like /u/jay_the_prophet, /u/chase_walker and many more, because they aren't the ones that reach /r/all and instead of wearing crazy shit, pull off fits by simple understanding of colors, silhouettes, and proportions.

Anyways what yall think?

Friends a pro artist, marked these up for me

Posted: 03 Feb 2018 06:35 PM PST

Hey guys. Can you help me out? Cousin (in the US, I'm in NZ) received an item even though I cancelled the order (as error in order) and about to get a refund.

Posted: 03 Feb 2018 11:02 PM PST

So yeah, kinda in a predicament.

I bought a shirt for my cousin, realised it was the wrong shirt and immediately cancelled through email as it was in their FAQ. After that I bought the right shirt and shipped it to his house. So right now, I paid for two shirts.

A week later, no response from company so I emailed again to ask about it.

However, the next day, my cousin rings that he got 2 shirts and I was confused as the RIGHT order had tracking details while the WRONG order did not, and they still sent it despite them not writing back or anything.

3 days later (today), shop emails that they had cancelled the order and will give me a refund.

What should I do guys since I do not know how it works in US. Do I wait for refund and email them saying they still sent the shirt despite me cancelling it as soon after I bought it or what? Should I get my cousin to send the wrong shirt back now or wait?

Some non branded sweat shorts for an athletic guy

Posted: 03 Feb 2018 08:51 PM PST

Hey guys, I'm looking for some non branded sweat shorts, or at least some brands that won't clash with Nike or adidas. I squat twice a week so I'm pretty thick in the legs and ass haha, so I'm not sure how stuff like H and M would work. Anyways thanks in advance.

Update on Sole Stage and Round Two Beef:

So Sean of Round Two originally dissed Sole stage here:

The owners of Sole Stage kinda fired back by ripping off his nike design here recently:

[DISCUSSION] Need Dressing Tips

Posted: 02 Feb 2018 12:17 PM PST

Hi,

I need some styling tips. I used to know how to dress well, as I used to club and go out a lot, but for the last year or so, I've cut down so much that I forgot how to dress nicely... I've been wearing Adidas soccer pants, vans and basic tees for so long now.

So, I have a bunch of Disquared2 jeans, decent amount of designer tees, SLP hoodie, OldSkool low Vans, Plain Gucci Aces and plain black Christian Louboutin shoes. Yes, I realize all the things I have are a little too tacky, but I'm looking to purchase some more things.

I recall that I used to wear nice shoes (my Gucci or Loub) with any one of my DQ jeans and a basic, plain tee. I don't like having my entire fit do the talking. Typically, I like my shoes being some what of an eye-catcher, though I really don't like wearing loud pieces of clothing. Now, I know Chelsea boots have been in, but I don't really like them. I like wearing sneakers for most of my outfits. Moreover, I'm looking to purchase a good amount of plain tees, long sleeves and turtle necks to wear. I also purchased a really nice cardigan to layer over my clothing. Does anyone have any tips? I need help with specifically shoes and tops. My pants I feel as though are good enough. I have about 10 DQ2 jeans, so I keep the various styles in rotation. Any tips, advice and/or someone who already dresses sort of how I would like to, please post up your WDYW.

I've been browsing ASOS for some nice plain tops, as I don't want to be wearing all designer. I fine that look to be quite tacky. Any tips would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you!
