[DISCUSSION] Has anybody got boxy/Classic/skate fit T-Shirt/sweater sewing patterns?

Posted: 24 May 2018 01:11 AM PDT

Ich would Like to have an organic Boxy sweater. As I couldn't find this anywhere I thought I would sow my own.

Has anyone got links where you can sewing patterns, that fit Boxy Like Skateboard brands, s u p r e m e , br on z e 5 6k, etc.? Or traditional Like what your grandpa would wear.

Or hast anybody got an Idea, how you could create a sewing pattern by yourself? Or If you use a normal(slim) fit pattern, how couldn't you modify it to fit in a Boxy was?

Are there any manufacturers, that published their sewing patterns?

Or has anybody Still got their granmas sewing patterns?

Thanks.

[DISCUSSION] HELP! OXICLEAN RUINED MY TOMMY JACKET

Posted: 23 May 2018 08:18 PM PDT

Hey all, I used oxiclean powder today on a tommy hilfiger jacket. Soaked only the collar(admittedly for an upper recommended range of time, about 6hrs.. oxiclean recommends 1-6), washed as normal after. Upon pulling the jacket out of the washer I noticed that white residue is ingrained all in my previously sweet bright blue jacket, on parts where I didn't treat it. Has anyone else experienced this? Not sure where to go from here - currently running a cold rinse on it again in the meantime. I'm super disappointed. Thanks.

[DISCUSSION] Techwear for shorter guys - help? thoughts?

Posted: 23 May 2018 12:39 PM PDT

Hey guys,

Wanted to open a discussion to gather thoughts on techwear for shorter guys. It's a struggle train because most of the techwear brands offer clothes that are extremely wide/long even at the smallest sizes. It's mostly just not going to look flattering on me (example acronym, guerrilla group, nike acg) I can get away with XS in acg but it's tricky still because some of them are getting into women's wear.

Have you found a brand that offers better options for shorter dudes like myself? Enfin leve has been amazing because of the customization options, but it's not cheap by any means...

Thoughts?

I'm 5'6 130lbs as a reference.

[Inspo] My journey thru streetwear the last two years

Posted: 22 May 2018 03:53 PM PDT

I started getting into streetwear end of my senior year of highschool. I now just finished my sophomore year of college and have come along way and really found my personal style. When I was first getting into streetwear I took a lot of shitty fit pics on my phone. I thought I'd share them so you guys can see my journey. I have a lot of go to fits now and rarely take pics, most here are for my freshman year of college. I try not to overdress nowadays (like in highschool and browsed MFA lol). I used to struggle with overdoing my outfits too much. Now I like to maintain a overall casual look, while trying to still dress well. Nowadays it's mainly just vans/CDGs/etc, black jeans/sweatshorts and a tee or flannel/jacket .

Heres the album

Also, you probably wouldn't think based on all my mirror pics, but I actually do a lot of photography as a hobby and take some fit pics of other people so check that out if you're down : www.instagram.com/_colemurdy

[DISCUSSION] Could you people explain something a complete outsider?

Posted: 22 May 2018 08:59 AM PDT

So, I am a complete outsider to whole streetwear thing, or any fashion in general. I came upon this label/whatever is the right term called supreme and I have to wonder: Why do people pay 300 dollars for a completely white t-shirt? Or 195 for a t-shirt that has a screenshot from black sabbath music video on it? Or 210 for a t-shirt with panel from Akira on it? Is it handmade from some super cotton or what makes these shirts so expensive? As far as I can tell, they are 1:1 identical with any sort of band or fan shirt so the quality of the shirt must be really high. Right?

Also, does Black Sabbath know supreme sells shirts with screenshot from their music video on it? Or does Katsuhiro Otomo know they sell shirts with panels from Akira on it?

I am seriously curious in hearing an explanation for the price of these shirts since they all look like normal fan shirts. They don't stand out at all from a general band shirt or whatever and if I were to take a blindtest, I probably couldn't tell the other from the other.

So what makes these Supreme shirts so goddamn expensive? I am not trying to be like 'huehue look so stupidly expensive who buys this shite'. I am seriously curious about this. What makes these shirts so valuable? Are they licensed? What is going on here? Please explain ;_;'

[DISCUSSION] Trying to not be a ungrateful piece of shit, need styling advice.

Posted: 21 May 2018 04:30 PM PDT

My family have a vacation home in Asia and last summer I went and bought 2 bape tees. Anyway so my dad who also owns a company there and have to visit the country a few times a year to work, remembered that I have an interest in bape and other brands and so he decieded to buy me a bape hoodie. Today he suprised me with it but honestly I'm not a big hypebeast and not really a fan of the bape hoodies, I feel bad and want advice on how to style it without looking like a real hypebeast. Any tip is appreciated

https://imgur.com/gallery/uhVbSj9

I feel like trash right now. I believe it almost costs more than my entire closet. My dad and I are very close and it's so awesome of him to something like this. Atleast out of all bape hoodies this one is fairly lowkey.

TLDR My dad is awesome and I'm a piece of shit who need advice styling a bape hoodie.

Edit: You can turn the hoodie inside out to choose if you just want plain black or the bape camo.

[Discussion] How do I pursue Fashion Designing

Posted: 21 May 2018 02:12 PM PDT

Hello my name is Jason, i'm a 14 year old student from CA that simply just wants to pursue his dream job. so today i wanted to discuss my dream job which is fashion designing. I heard it's a hard industry but very interesting. Some people say income matters when you're trying to pursue a dream like that, idk if that's true but that's up to you guys. So the problem I have is what is the steps i should take now as a teenager to pursue my dream job? I've been studying about garments, trends, inseams, and iconic pieces. I've also studied about designers like Alexander Wang, Tom Ford, Anthony Vaccarello, and ETC. They all have diverse styles and "visions". How do i get confidence and inspiration to actually go through my dream job.
