[DISCUSSION] Editing your fit pics is worse than sitting in them

The idea of a fit pic is to show off your outfit, not your editing ability. Edits seem to have what psychology calls a halo effect, or the tendency for an impression created in one area to influence opinion in another area. Plus, manipulating reality to enhance your fit is something that does not fit well with me.

While there are a lot of examples out there, I don't want to call out anyone by name. I think what I'm trying to say should be obvious enough though.

I understand how sitting fit pics can be problematic as you can't judge the pant shoe interaction and waist line of the fit; however, we don't need to be shown every aspect of the fit to form an opinion of it. If we complain about pant shoe interaction and waist, are we also gonna complain when we can't see the back of the fit either? Or a side view? Having to see pant shoe interaction and waist line is, imo, arbitrary in forming an opinion of a fit. I get a lot of inspo from IG and many pics are just sitting and not even full body.

Anyways, the point of this thread was that I think if there are talks about banning sitting fit pics, then there should be talks about edits as well, and that banning sitting fit pics is being too stringent.

What do you guys think?
