Posted: 26 Jul 2017 11:04 AM PDT Waddup r/streetwear! I'm asking this question because I'm curious. It seems like such a talked about thing but I feel like no one REALLY talks about it. I just want to propose the question: why do you thrift. Example: I thrift because not only is it a cool and fun experience, but it allows you to have a very cheap and ranging wardrobe without putting much emphasis on branding. Basics can be found anywhere and sometimes the simplest of shirts can become your favorites. It is a very personal experience for me and I feel better connected to my clothes. It also puts an emphasis on character and identity. Sure you can buy into Tommy and old polo stuff, but nothing screams personality more than putting a well but together outfit without much branding or "hyped" thrifted brands. Basically what I'm saying is fuck a brand, be your own brand. So why do you guys thrift? There's nothing wrong with liking Tommy or Polo stuff fyi, there's really nothing wrong with liking any brand. I think this world of streetwear is too blinded by the fact that wearing a brand and buying into a lifestyle makes someone cooler than another. Everyone is a person and should be allowed to do whatever they want, regardless of what trends Rocky or Kanye creating. Everyone is subjected to their own opinion on anything, and if you think something is cool then by all means rock that shit till you can't anymore. I feel like this has almost turned into a full blown rant. Anyways I just wanna know why everyone thrifts and if there is someone else that experiences this same personal connection that I get when I thrift. [link] [comments]

Weekly Sales Thread - July 26, 2017 Posted: 26 Jul 2017 09:10 AM PDT Welcome to the Sale Announcement Thread! Here is where the community comes together and leaves links to great steals and sales floating around stores, online or in real life. As fair warning, we warn that you are dealing with strangers over the internet at your own risk, the moderation team nor reddit are liable for any shady dealings. Be smart, find ways to verify that users are who they say they are and have what they say they have. Weekly Sales thread is not the Pop-Up Shop thread. Any comments advertising their own sales will be removed.[link] [comments]

Fear Of God Fourth Collection Indigo Posted: 26 Jul 2017 03:39 PM PDT Hey everyone, I've been hearing a lot about Fear of God'd Fourth Collection Indigo Denim and I know there's like two or three batches. First being "OG", and second being "Intern" and so on. I was wondering if any of you know how to tell the difference between the batches assuming people in this Reddit have fear of God denim. Thanks. :) [link] [comments] |
