The Zoot Suit™ Special (Tracksuits) Posted: 06 Dec 2017 02:28 PM PST I don't think I really need to explain tracksuits to people. They've been a staple for a while in hip-hop culture, and have had a huge resurgence in mainstream fashion. With grime music becoming an emerging force around the world (Note: Yes I know it has been the UK for a long ass time), the roadman style is beginning to gain a massive surge in popularity. Every high end label that didn't Fashion is cy(n)clical I guess, right? A lot of people have actually been mixing tracksuit bottoms with regular tops as well. This presents a very casual and lazy look. A good alternative to wide leg/baggy pants. For the most part, you'll be looking for polyester as your main material for a lot of these. Some might be cotton, some might have a wool blend going (mostly sweatsuits). Can't really lose no matter what you pick....except for that cheap Adidas Essential Tricot Jacket. Shit is ass quality Anywho, here's some brands to look out for and the price ranges: Low ($0-150): Adidas, Nike, Puma, Reebok, vintage Kappa, Fila, Fred Perry, FUBU, South Pole, Steve and Berry's Mid ($151-300): Palace, Supreme, Kappa, Xander Zhou, Lacoste, North Face, Nautica High ($300 and beyond): Dior (hell most high end labels do....they're usually bad tho), Palm Angels, Needles, Gucci, Stone Island, Fear of God (YEET), Juicy Couture, Mains London Famous Collabs as well: Vetements x Reebok, Supreme x Lacoste, Palace x Adidas, Gosha x Adidas, C2H4 x Kappa, Faith Connexion x Kappa, Fenty Puma, pretty sure Fred Perry did some shit too... Finally, the album itself. Enjoy + discuss shit [link] [comments]

Posted: 06 Dec 2017 07:05 AM PST Others may disagree, but for me streetwear began in the 1980's. These were the glory days of the legendary tailor Dapper Dan of Harlem, New York. When at first turned down from carrying major luxury labels when opening his own clothing store, Dapper Dan made a legendary move that still resonates to this day. He made his name by counterfeiting the famous Louis Vuitton pattern and several other luxury brand logos, using them to create his own original tailored clothing. In doing this, he unmistakably influenced the style of hip-hop and his custom-made apparel was seen in the videos of almost every famous rapper of the era. What are some of the best examples of creative artistic theft in streetwear that you've seen over time? Amazingly, even established luxury houses are finally getting in on the act and are now stealing from streetwear in return. Do you still consider the logo flip cool, where a streetwear brand takes an established logo of another company and makes it their own? How far can a streetwear brand go and at what point does it become simply stealing? [link] [comments]
