[DISCUSSION] the mods are witches, wide leg trousers are scary, i saw Goody CommanderSheperd consorting with the devil

Posted: 30 Nov 2018 12:42 AM PST

let me start off by saying i've never posted in this subreddit and i don't know what 'clothes' are. i've never not been nude in my entire life. instead of buying ''''clothes'''' and posting ''''''''fits''''''' (as SOME PEOPLE like to call them) i have an intricate series of full-body tattoos, which i modify every morning with the help of my friend who is a nearly-professional tattoo artist. i usually wear a montage of supreme logos and a large bape face over my downstairs crime zone.

anyway, recently i've seen a lot of pictures posted on this subreddit which just aren't streetwear. for example, if i saw someone in my town wearing corduroy or a hat, i would report them to the parish priest and have them excommunicated. frankly, if you wore some of these outfits where i live (Summerisle, the fashion capital of the outer hebrides), you'd likely to burned to death in order to bring our crops back.

don't get me wrong, i'm very fashion-forward and i love new things, but also i hate new things, the mods won't stop throwing rocks at my house, and what i'm really looking for in a subreddit is pictures of spongebob squarepants saying THIS AINT IT CHIEF to a guy wearing patterned trousers.

[DISCUSSION] This sub is suffering from a lack of creativity and too many restrictions.

Posted: 29 Nov 2018 02:01 PM PST

Inspired from the top post earlier, I want to make a plea with the mods. This sub used to be a place where anyone could post and spread their ideas, now it's become elitist to the point where it's just power users using this sub as instagram and gathering mega-clout. Instead of seeing new, creative fits it's the same styles and fits made by the same handful of users.

I understand the whitelist system and why it was implemented but we all know no one cares enough to go through it except the die-hard users which post almost everyday. And you could say this has eliminated annoying, repetitive trends but they're still here. A painted denim jacket is at the top of this sub every other day.

Why does this sub have to be different from every other sub? Why do the mods take fashion this seriously and force you to be a serial-poster if you want to contribute a good fit? Streetwear is about individuality and expression so why are there so many draconian rules implemented just to make this sub more restricted. This is why we have like 600k dead subs, and it's why this sub peaked 2 years ago.

I believe that the whitelist should be removed, there shouldn't be a WDYWT thread that casual users aren't gonna post to, and that memes should be allowed so this sub is actually interesting again. They really banned memes hahaha. And also don't make people type a paragraph for a simple question because we all know half the questions in the designated thread go unanswered.

All creativity and unique ideas come from casual posters, but they meet a wall when they have to go through the whitelist bullshit.

And for those complaining about an influx of trash posts, karma naturally filters the good posts from the shitty. And it doesn't even matter if there are shitty posts just browse past them, like almost every sub on Reddit. I know there was a vote and the opinions of users change a lot but we can tell that a mostly unrestricted sub is better for interesting and funny content.

Please discuss kings

Edit: A comment by /u/Aunti3_matter

This is the thought process of someone who is newly interested with streetwear as of now:

"I have this cool idea for a fit that I think people will like! I think this really does a good job expressing what styles I'm partial to!"

Send us 15 different fits that are all perfectly photographed and color corrected so you can post the one fit that you are actually enthusiastic about or you can go fuck off

"Cool! Won't visit this sub again"

[DISCUSSION] Best Brands with strong unique visual identity + aesthetic that also carry cheap chest rigs

Basically the title, strong visual aesthetic identity and cheap chest rigs accessories, preferably skating. Seems like there are a few alternatives but who wins the gauntlet?

[DISCUSSION] How do I dress business casual-ish without looking like a dork?

Posted: 29 Nov 2018 12:41 PM PST

My office is right between full business casual and more relaxed. Most guys wear slacks with tucked in dress shirts or jeans with tucked in dress shirts.

80% look terrible, it's usually black slacks with a blue shirt.

Even with the right fits these clothes are just boring and to me don't look stylish at all. There is some opportunity to buck the trend as it's not strict on dress code and I want to dress right while not looking like I came off an assembly line of office worker.

How would you handle this?

[DISCUSSION] real disappointed in this sub

Posted: 28 Nov 2018 07:01 PM PST

i am not even mad, just disappointed. like a once proud dad who saw his son hit the pookie. i look at this sub and shake my head. are yall trolling? i seen a fit of a dude looking like an anime grandma. 75 upvotes. where are the classic fits? where are the vintage 80s/90s fits that this sub used to have?

and don't tell me "fashion changes". i know, im with it. but i'm tired of these people getting praised for spending thousands to look terrible. i don't give a fuck about your all raf, ill-fitting "artistic" fit. none of these outfits would be socially acceptable in the real world. all of you live in a fantasy world hyping each other up for being ambitious or whatever bullshit adjective you want to use to describe your atrocious fits.

i despise you zany insecure fucks who put together random thrifted fits that look like 3rd grade dress up. don't tell me this isn't supposed to represent everyday fashion. this is r/streetwear, not r/spendthousandstolooklikeshit. and if the soviet mods remove this post you are proving my point.

there is no fun in this sub anymore. why can't we have memes? and where is the actual discussion? wdywt are cool, but that's all i see. why do we have to type 100 words to ask a question to the masses? anyone outside of this auschwitz-birkneau ass sub clowns you. i speak from a place of friendship, understanding, and benevolence. i don't dislike you guys on this sub, but some serious revamps need to take place.

discuss.

[Discussion] How can i stop or reduce the amount of hair that sticks onto my cotton CDG t shirt?

Posted: 29 Nov 2018 12:32 AM PST

Im hoping im allowed to post this here, as people on here care and know more about clothes here i figured it would be perfect, if anyone has any tips on methods/tricks or products that can stop hair from sticking to my t shirt all the time it would be great! My t shirt is of 100% cotton if it matters. Its also all black so the hair is easier to notice but anyway, please help!

Also i dont want to sound like an asshole but can i please have some upvotes? at the minute i can only post or comment once every like 8 minutes, im guessing i dont have enough karma on this sub. Any help is very appreciated!

i've finally came to a resolution to ask here. Are there any online brands that sell good styles of pants? Im trying to change from a fitted sporty look to a more loose comfortable and baggy look. [DISCUSSION] Basic Sweatshirts

Posted: 28 Nov 2018 09:43 PM PST

To me and others, a basic sweatshirt is constituted when said sweatshirt is blank of graphics and doesn't aim to capture a specific silhouette. I've seen people pay hundreds of dollars for these and I don't understand why. Its not like a Yeezy hoodie or JJJJound crewneck that actually has a unique fit to it, it looks like just a plain old gildan or something. I understand that some basics won't last you very long on the cheaper side, but people seem to put the basic Uniqlo U hoodie at high regard in this category. So why buy such an expensive basic if nothing makes it special, and there are much cheaper contenders? I'd like to know.
