[DISCUSSION] Creature Tee on denim jacket

Posted: 30 Oct 2018 08:33 PM PDT

Here's the shirt https://www.warehouseskateboards.com/creature-skateboards-viscerous-black-men%27s-short-sleeve-t-shirt-large It's a small and I bought it a few years back. It no longer fits me and I figured I'd preserve it by getting it cut out and sewn on a black denim jacket. Dope or greasy hair core?

[ART] Interchangeable Flannel concept design

Posted: 30 Oct 2018 04:43 PM PDT

Hey guys, I'm doing research on a business project for school. I have to design a business concept which is interchangeable flannel sleeves. If you could fill this quick survey out, I'd really appreciate it.

Also feel free to comment with feedback as this is my first time designing fashion products.

[DISCUSSION] Does wearing clothes with politically outspoken/controversial designers make you, by proxy, a representation of those designers' views? Why/why not?

Posted: 30 Oct 2018 01:20 PM PDT

Hello friends,

As I consider the recent statements from Kanye West and take a more critical eye to current events, I am becoming increasingly curious if the designers visions are inherently attached at some level to the products they produce.

TL;DR: At what point does the artist's views become indispensable from the art?

For the simplest example, we can look at Wests' recent support of the U.S. president and urging individuals to leave the democratic party. For me, this puts me off from wearing any of my Yeezy gear as I feel I am supporting someone with ideals I fundamentally disagree with. While understandably it can be written off as "just clothes" and is entirely subjective, I am curious to hear other viewpoints on this topic.

[DISCUSSION] Anyone else not into Instagram?

Posted: 30 Oct 2018 10:30 AM PDT

Like the title says, I'm wondering if I'm the only one. Now let me start of by saying that I don't consider myself a streetwear kind of guy, but I do have a lot in common with what I've seen here so far. I've just never been into the sharing part of the hobby, so to speak. For the past 9 years or so I've been developing my own tastes and looks without ever being a carbon copy of someone I deemed 'cool'. I never saw the point in sharing my looks in order to get confirmation that my look is great. When you put together a nice outfit, you simply know? Don't you?

I'll excuse myself in advance for sounding pretentious, but I just can't help but feel like I'm the only one. There certainly must be other guys that love (vintage) clothing, love looking cool and enjoy being ahead of the curve without the desire for likes. There's definitely a difference between posting on this subreddit (a modern day fan forum of sorts) and plastering your looks all over social media. Perhaps I'm becoming an old man yelling at clouds in my early twenties, who knows...

[NEWS] I just built a website that lets you shop your brands in one place and easily see deals & new collections.

Posted: 29 Oct 2018 02:36 PM PDT

hey r/streetwear, I did a survey here a few weeks ago asking what can I build to help people shop. Based on that feedback I built this website that lets you shop all your brands in one place and easily see deals & drops.

www.pershop.app

Let me know what you think, and if there are other features you think would be useful. Thanks so much for telling me about your problems and for trying it out!

Disclaimer: I am not making any money off of this right now, just wanted to build a tool to help myself and others shop.

[DISCUSSION] Where do you think streetwear is headed next?

Posted: 29 Oct 2018 04:40 PM PDT

I know that this is a super ambiguous question but I wanted to get some serious discussion going. In my opinion streetwear is just about at its peak of popularity (if it hasn't reached there already). There have been many companies collaborating with nostalgic influences recently, and there's also been a movement in minimalistic fits. On the other hand, tech-influence is still pretty popular. It seems like hype brands such as Thrasher and ASSC are dying down, too (although I'm not really part of that demographic anymore).

I was wondering where people think streetwear is going next. Please leave at least a paragraph so we can have a nice discussion going.

[DISCUSSION] Winter sneakers and street wear

Posted: 30 Oct 2018 04:26 AM PDT

About to go and stay in BC Canada from early November to late January, I'm planning on going to get some new shoes soon but not sure what type. As I'm Australian I don't really deal with snow at all, and the rain is pretty light. I'm looking at taking my Air Max 95s and Reebok Workout pluses but don't know how either will fair in the weather. What sneakers do people find works for them? Also, thinking of getting outerwear and bottoms, but again not sure where the best place to get them is.

If anyone has any winter inspos that'd be amazing, thanks!

So Street: My journey from streetwear to high fashion and back. Part 1 [DISCUSSION]

Posted: 29 Oct 2018 05:27 PM PDT

[Discussion] I am currently conflicted because I have fallen in love with masks, for example the "off-white" line of masks, but unfortunately I have no idea how to style it.

Posted: 29 Oct 2018 09:03 PM PDT

The "off-white" black X mask is Probaly one of my favorite pieces of clothing right now and I am debating whether or not to purchase it. For me this is an investment because funds are tight and I do not want to invest in something I have nothing to wear with. I was hoping the fit-smart people of this subreddit could help figure out a way to style this piece. (Also it does not have to be the focus of the fit)
