[Discussion] Potential fit battles app

Posted: 11 Oct 2018 08:06 AM PDT

So I've come up with an idea to create a fit battles app and I'd love to know what the r/streetwear community would want from such an app. I thought this would be an interesting concept because it would allow users without a large follower base to get their outfits seen and it would show how well you dress compared to others.

The basic premise is that the app would aggregate all the outfits posted each day and automatically enter them into a daily contest. When a user goes to vote, outfits would be randomly paired and the user would get to vote on them in a Tinder-style mechanism. The randomness is key to discovering new types of styles. The ranking of outfits would be displayed on a leaderboard and they would be ranked by percentage of wins and losses.

Users would also be able to follow other users and see their outfits in a feed separate from the voting section. Idk whether to add some advantage for users who have more followers so that users can feel they can make an impact on their own ranking.

What do you think of this basic concept? Is there anything else that you would want in an app like this? Would you even use something like this?
