Increasingly seeing sheer tops

Posted: 24 Sep 2017 05:23 PM PDT

Going out at night in my midwestern city, I'm increasingly seeing girls wearing sheer tops of various kinds with nipples exposed. There are patterned bralette/nighty type of things, to just straight mesh type tops.

I'm just curious what people think. I'm surprised I'm seeing this so much this year but not seeing any discussion about it. I figured people would be talking about it. Where is this trend coming from?

Professional model seeking help finding a Chinese streetwear brand

Posted: 24 Sep 2017 11:22 AM PDT

Hi there so I am a professional model based out of the U.S. and I recently made a trip for 3 months to Shanghai. I shot for a streetwear brand there and my former agency will not make contact with me to get these pictures I took from them. I do not remember the name of the brand (My fault for sure) but I remember a little about it and I have come here to see if anyone can help me find the brand/my pictures online somewhere.

The only things I remember about the brand is that the name of it was some numbers and letters with a dash in the middle...It was something that looked like this... J##-### ...with the # in that being just any random number or letter...however I am pretty sure that it started with a J. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks!

  • Link to picture of myself

  • Update: I figure it would help if I described the clothing a bit lol. So it was mostly blacks/whites. Big jackets and oversized clothes. In one of the shots they had me holding a big flag with their logo on it. The shots were against a wall that looked like a big metal sheet. There were lots of shadows so my face might not be completely visible.

What is the streetwear stereotype where you live?

Posted: 24 Sep 2017 05:12 AM PDT

I live in Sydney, and it seems to be much more accepting of streetwear than when I first got into it 15 years ago. People seemed to think because I wore 4XL shirts when I was a medium at best that I wanted to be a rapper or that I was a "gangsta".

In 2017, it's very popular, with dedicated stores (Culture Kings, Khrome etc) that sell some really good stuff. I still get disapproving stares but I think that's more for the dreadlocks.#

How about your area? How do people react to streetwear?

Does the mark up on most of these brands ever bother you guys?

Posted: 25 Sep 2017 02:01 AM PDT

Working hands on at a Screenprint/ Embroidery company managing pricing and design, I saw a bit of the behind the scenes over the course of a year... and to see the rates we charged compared to the mark up a lot of our customers would go on to use is fucking insane.. and thats only in New Zealand, compared to America is probably even more ridiculous from the likes of the supremes and bapes etc....

Just curious to hear some thoughts

Workout routine for fashion body? (people who work out get in this thread)

Posted: 24 Sep 2017 09:59 PM PDT

My legs are really bulky (half muscle half fat) and have a lot of mass in them and that disallows me from being fresh and looking good in dior or rick owens jeans. I've tried many workout plans but my legs either stay the same or bigger. I'm currently skinny fat and I have no idea what routine to do. Whenever I ask r/fitness they always tell me I should train my legs to make them look bigger so I don't look disproportional.

I'm not trying to look really buff, I really just want a body like Jerry Lorenzo so I can rock nice clothes. Is there a workout plan that anyone knows which allows me to have a body similar to jerry lorenzo?

Sorry if this isn't streetwear related but if I asked this on any bodybuilding forum theyll clown me for wanting skinnier legs just for fashion.

Should teenagers buy high end pieces?

Posted: 24 Sep 2017 08:18 AM PDT

I got some money saved up so I'm considering buying a pair of cp chelsea boots on sale but my parents think I should just stick with cheap brands. But from my point of view in the long run its better than buying multiple fast fashion pieces that will wear out soon.

Halloween/Horror Themed Clothing?

Posted: 24 Sep 2017 01:47 PM PDT

Since Halloween is approaching does any know of brands/stores selling clothing that's related to Halloween? Anything like horror themed graphics, horror design, horror movie graphics, famous art with horror elements (Gustave Doré, classical art referencing hell like "Dante and Virgil in Hell", or think like the patches Innerdecay sells). Anything you can think of would help, thanks!
