INVEST IN YOURSELF

Posted: 10 Sep 2017 12:25 AM PDT

Make sure to budget and really invest in things important to you and things you've always wanted to try . Sometimes we get so caught up with hype and are so willingly to drop a months worth of money on clothes, but forget the things that builds us up and gets us laid like cooking and traveling. Be a high quality man with high quality fits 👊.

Lessons learned as a sneaker head

Posted: 09 Sep 2017 11:15 PM PDT

I've been collecting sneakers for a couple years now and i currently have around 25 pairs. A few things I wish i had known/done before getting in to sneakers are

  1. save your money. instead of buying like 6 pairs of cheap shoes, buy 1-2 shoes you can roatate and save up for something nice. my most worn pair of shoes are my all white ultra boosts, i had to save all the money i earned from mowing lawns last summer but is was worth it.

  2. don't buy it just because it's on sale. this is how i've ended up with maybe 5 or so pairs that i never wear. a lot of times i just browse sale sections and if i see a deal on a shoes i kinda like i buy it. my favorite shoes are all ones that i've waited on for months.

  3. think about what you can wear with the sneakers first. if you can't think of 3 outfits you could wear with the sneakers in like 10 minutes, they're gonna be hard to wear.

  4. get basic colors out of the way before you go for crazy shoes. and by that i mean get staples like black old schools or white stan smiths that match with everything. then go for crazy weird shoes that you like that don't match as much.

  5. never pay retail for designer sneakers. a bunch of websites are dedicated to finding deals on whatever (like lyst.com or 6pm.com etc). i have a pair of raf stans that retailed for just under $400 that i got for $150. next week i'm gonna be buying some margelia replicas for $250.

  6. try to sell old sneakers to afford new ones. that also means you have to keep your nice shoes clean. for knit shoes i recommend putting them in a pillow case and running them through the wash. leather shoes can be cleaned with a brush soap and water. i'd reccoment investing in a suede cleaning kit as well. they're relatively cheap ($15) and have completely saved some of my sneakers.

  7. get a job. sneakers and streetwear in general is expensive. make sure you budget and set aside money for important stuff, then buy your sneakers and clothes.

feel free to comment other tips or whatever i missed

Using basic sewing I turned old hiking pants into tapered cargo's, what do you think?

Tired of the "boring fit" mentality.

Posted: 09 Sep 2017 04:58 PM PDT

Not everything has to be groundbreaking. Simple fits can be very well executed and as good as more experimental ones. I guess you could say you take a higher risk when experimenting. What I'm trying to say is, that not everything has to be a fashion breakthrough. I'm not going to call anyone out, but some people on this subreddit keeps shitting on other people's fits while doing nothing but complain thus not improving the subreddit, just bringing negative vibes. Keywords here are constructive criticism. Rant over. Would like to see what you guys have to say about this.

I think I dun fucked up ordering from supreme.

Posted: 09 Sep 2017 12:47 PM PDT

I'm sorry if this isn't the place to post this, but seeing as how the supreme subreddit is private, this seemed like the next logical place.

So, long story short, I decided I wanted to try and get my first supreme piece during the first f/w 17 drop. However during checkout, i fucked up my zip code in that I switched two of my numbers around. So instead of going to my town, it's going to a small ass town in Kansas with a literal population of 23. (Brownell Kansas for those curious) Which is in a completely different state from where I live.

I tried contacting ups to get the address changed, I explained my current situation and they said they'd get it fixed, but of course they didn't. I guess supreme blocks address changes. so that brings us here. Do I just wait it out? Do I have other options? Or am I just completely fucked?

Any advice would be fantastic. Thank you!

Are there different materials for Carhartt WIP Sid Pant depending on color?

Posted: 09 Sep 2017 06:50 PM PDT

Has anyone experienced WIP Sid pants having different materials between colors? I picked up a pair of navy Sid Pants from NeedSupply.com and the materials were sort of rugged and durable. I liked it a lot so I picked up the black pair and when I got them the materials seems much different and more of a smooth and thinner material. Has anyone experienced something similar?
