[DISCUSSION] GQ NEW YORK FASHION WEEK AND THE FUCKIN TRENDS YOU FUCKERS WANNA LOOK OUT FOR Posted: 20 Feb 2018 07:14 PM PST ALRIGHTY BOYS FIRST ID LIKE TO SHOUTOUT /u/carrixcake FOR HIS LOVELY POST FROM GQ COVERING NEW YORK FASHION WEEK STREET STYLES SINCE IVE DECIDED I HATE MYSELF AND ALL OTHER NO LIFE POWER POSTERS I THOUGHT ID GIVE AWAY ALL OUR SECRETS BY GIVING EACH AND EVERY ONE OF YOU A COMPREHENSIVE RUN DOWN OF THE TRENDS IM NOTICING IN GQS ALBUM AND WHAT THAT MEANS FOR YOU AFTER YOUVE GIVEN MY STREAM OF CONCIOUSNESS VOMIT COMIT OF A POST THE THOROUGH READING IT DESERVES FEEL FREE TO HIT UP THE COMMENTS AND TELL ME WHAT TRENDS I MISSED, WHAT TRENDS GQ MISSED, WHAT YOU LIKE OR DONT LIKE ABOUT SAID TRENDS AND AND AND (AND IM GONNA HATE MYSELF FOR THIS ONE) FEEL FREE TO ASK ME OR ANYONE FOR BRANDS TO LOOK OUTFOR AND CHEAP ALTS FOR THESE LOOKS YOU CAN ACHIEVE WHILE BALLIN ON A BUDGET New York Fashion Week: buy a puffer jacket or get out In all seriousness though its neat to see these trends developing. And what kind of looks are reaching prominence with those with their finger on the pulse of relevant fashion Trends: Long overcoats remain in style, but becoming more oversized, closer to lower legs and feet with ever expanding lapels. Puffer jackets stupidly trendy at the moment. Everyone and their mom has one in the wildest color or material you can imagine. Leathers and sherpas remain trendy, but worn less aggressively than in the past. Colors are big. We're seeing more vibrant tones and deep colors. Smooth and mature oaks and shell blues and salmons compete for attention with deep oranges, mustard yellows, emerald greens and other more wacky triatic colors. Pattern mixing making a huge comeback (along with more mature and weighty materials like wool, boucle, and knits. The drunk 1950s british dad look is both in and gorgious Along with this is the continued prominence of wider cuts, slouching fits, and sloppy styling of mature pieces for an almost ageless effortless vibe Shockingly im seeing a sort of quick death of the overbranding trend that struck hard last year. It may have been the rain but i was pleasantly suprisedto notice thay despite the luxe outfits and beautiful pieces on display not many people were plastered with branding or overt logos and graphics Wacky 2000s and late 90s accessories are making a big comeback. Hit up your local Claire's for the coolest color tinted shades on the block to go with your new colorful wardrobe Dad shoes OF COURSE are in baby. Ozweegoes, triple S, air max, whatever ungodly poop smeared abomination Gucci just shatout to stay trendy yes baby its daddy's year. Big boy boots as well too match the thick aesthetic. Chunky chelseas, work boots (paired perfectly with every boys favorite carhartt or Craig green also making waves this year), and doc martens are all solid investments in 2018 the year of our lord Deconstruction, the eternal Margiela meme machine seems to be thriving off the back of the recent sloppy styling trend. Exposed innards of overcoats, seems falling apart all over, the off white ten making big street appearances on anyone and everyone should tell you where this is going Workwear/Military brands in general are huge. Or those attempting to capture the look and feel. OAMC, Alyx, Craig Green, Rothco, Carhartt all on the up and up this season All in all I really like what im seeing and I'm super happy with the direction I see New York Fashion headed in as well as what that means for the rest of us [link] [comments]

Posted: 20 Feb 2018 06:36 PM PST Hey everyone. Recently I was able to purchase a pair of doc marten 1460 black boots for $70 online thanks to the browser extension honey and presidents day sales on shoes.com. I need some feedback though. Everywhere online I hear mixed opinions on the 1460s made in China boots. I'm worried that they won't last long, but keep in mind I'm only going to really wear them to school or occasionally out around town, nothing crazy like working in them. People are saying that at the $140 price that you should just save for the made in England editions, but since I got them for 70 bucks I don't know if it is a good deal. I would like to hear as many personal experiences as possible with the company from this subreddit. I figured this could be turned into a future mega thread that others can refer to when they will be making a purchase. I still have plenty of time to cancel the order if need be. [ART] A few more cut n sew shirts I've been working on recently Posted: 20 Feb 2018 10:44 AM PST Thanks for all the great feedback on these so far :) So close to having my first 10 of these completed, here's a few more reconstructed shirts that I've made over the last 2 weeks. They're all cut from thrifted vintage shirts and hand sewn back together! I trawled round vintage fairs buying up 10kg of materials to use, so I could definitely make more than 10, but I'm starting to dream about stitching them together (Tetris effect?) So it's time for a break soon. Working on these has given me a bunch of ideas for future projects and alternate designs though. Hoping to get a lookbook shot really soon to show these off even better, check the instagram for more if you like them! [link] [comments]

[Discussion] Refining the wardrobe / what's in your closet? Posted: 20 Feb 2018 01:21 AM PST Hey everyone. I'm currently in the process of getting rid of a lot of clothes and refining my wardrobe. For the sake of inspiration and tbh pure curiosity, I'm wondering what you guys have in your closets.
I'll go first. I have too many pieces, hence why I'm cleaning it all out. I have mostly t-shirts, most of which are solid color. Also most of my closet is black. My staple pieces (right now) are:
Right now I wear a little of my closet. My goal is to refine it and reformat it so most all of my pieces can go together. [link] [comments] |
