[DISCUSSION] Socks and Sandals: The Ultimate Combo

Posted: 16 May 2018 02:29 PM PDT

What's up y'all. Today I wanted to make a post about sandals/slides and their upcoming popularity. There are several brands making sandals in a relatively similar model such as Visvim. however Suicoke is probably the most popular company right now. They've been pushing out lots of collaborations with companies like Stussy, John Elliott, Palm Angels and many more. Celebrities such as Ian Connor, Asap Rocky, and Playboi Carti can be found wearing them. Their bulkiness and hefty structure is what separates them from regular old flip flops. This is what allows them to work well with pants (they appear to have more substance that kinda gives off the illusion of wearing shoes if that makes sense). Many models feature a thick sole and a padded upper thats supported by straps and other little details. The only downside to Suicoke is the hefty price tag that comes along. Prices range from $100 to upwards of $300. I simply do not have that much to drop on sandals so I dug around looking for alternatives. I found some that resemble suicoke and visvim, but the trend hasn't caught on yet so theres not a whole lot of them. I made an inspo for anyone who's interested. Also, I included links to youtubers that talk about them. Enjoy.

Bringing Techwear to Savile Row! [discussion]

Posted: 16 May 2018 09:40 AM PDT

Techwear is coming to Savile Row!!! And I'm off to Italy to make it so!
.
What happens when you put a technical agenda and utilitarian focus in the minds and hands of the finest Italian tailors?
The historic Italian fashion house D'avenza, along with the fabric mills of Luigi Botto and Ormezzano have asked me to bring together two of the most radically disparate worlds of fashion... beskpoke hand craft is about to collide head-on with bleeding edge material science!
.
D'avenza is considered by many to be the finest manufacturer of ready-to-wear tailored clothing, and produces the most luxurious textiles for the highest levels of the fashion world. I can't wait to begin... I can barely breathe... It feels like I was just handed the keys to a new Ferrari!!!

.
With the price of techwear what it is today... there's no reason not to approach garments with the same level of hand crafted bespoke care that goes into the finest tailored suits. In June I'm off to Italy to explore the possibility of hand crafted Italian technical apparel. At Luigi Botto and Ormezzano I get to explore radical new types of textiles, for example: blending technical yarns with the highest performing luxury wools such as Vicuna.
.
This is going to be fucking wild!
