[DISCUSSION] Hang Dry vs. Clothes Dryer

Posted: 01 May 2018 04:29 AM PDT

As an American Ive always had a clothes dryer in my house, so had never really considered hang drying, despite often hearing that its better for fabrics, etc. It seemed inconvenient at best and honestly almost primitive? I hate damp clothes so always thought that would be a big issue, etc.

But Ive been in Asia and Europe the past year, where clothes dryers are much less common, so have had to get used to hang drying... and holy shit, its so much better! Im genuinely shocked how much of a difference it makes. Materials feel like they did when they were new and the garments retain and even return to the original shape and size. Everything looks and feels much less fried.

I didnt have a clue how much the dryer was fucking up my clothes, I just thought that was how things went: clothes look good when theyre new, then look worse and worse as you wash them. Turns out thats just not true. Wanted to post this here in case any others are like me and dont know that this is a real thing.

[DISCUSSION] Where should somebody wanting to get into streetwear start?

Posted: 30 Apr 2018 09:56 AM PDT

Hey, first time posting on this sub. Hoping to find some guidance.

I wear pretty nice clothing already and I know how to match up colors well so I can look my best. Sometimes I even get compliments on my outfits. However, I want to get into streetwear.

Summer break is about to start. When school starts up again I'll be a Senior in my last year of high school, and I want to look fresh. So this summer I want to take the time to improve my style. This includes getting new clothes, a new haircut, and maybe even piercings. I also happen to be running low on clothes to wear, cause I'm growing out of them.

And, for the record, I only wear clothes that completely cover my arms and legs, all year round, including the summer.

Where can a newbie like me get started in streetwear? Any recommended brands/styles?

I appreciate any response. Thanks! 🖤

Bape instore retail prices (question) [DISCUSSION]

Posted: 30 Apr 2018 01:05 PM PDT

Hi guys, i have a question. So i really like the bape full zip shark hoodie, but because i live in amsterdam i have to either buy it at solebox (€450 because of shiping and taxes) or online (€280+ with €140+ shiping and taxes). A friend of mine is going to New York soon so i was wondering if anyone knows the retail prices for like a shark hoodie or a t shirt of a normal hoodie. I tought maybe the prices would be lower because it is an official bape store so they might not have to pay shiping or something. If this is the case and anyone knows the retail prices in store, please tell me. That way i know if i want i give her some money to buy me something there or if i think its still too expensive. Thanks! (Sorry if this is the wrong tag btw, i dont use reddit a lot).

1 [Discussion] Suggestions for classic sneakers/trainers to buy.

Posted: 30 Apr 2018 12:03 PM PDT

This is my first time posting on this page and I just need some fashion guidance. I am finishing up my third year of college and I am just trying focus on improving my style before I finish my last year of college.

As the title says. I am trying to grow my rotation of classic running sneakers and broaden my taste in shoe brands. I am aiming for something like the ASICS GEL-(Kayano Trainer, Diablo, Lyte), Nike Air Max Series, New Balance (99X), etc. Just to note I currently own a pair of Nike Prestos, ASIC GEL- Kayano Trainers, Adidas Ultra Boost, New Balance 997s and New Balance 574s. My current wardrobe consist of some sort of vintage large t-shirt, light-wash jeans (slightly stacked, non-zipper) and some sort of trainer/sneaker. I also try to cover my arms sometimes because they'e still a bit a too skinny. I'm trying to work out as well so I'm less self-conscious about them.

Any suggestions for good brands or quality sneaker/trainers or fashion advice in general is much appreciated.
