Why so many shady people in streetwear/sneakers?

First time posting in here, just want to get anyone else's take on this, I'm not a big reseller by any means but I sell a few things a year on ebay or grailed, mostly stuff i no longer wear. When I first got into streetwear like 10 years ago you could have a pretty smooth transaction, now it seems like there's more scammers/flakers and generally negative people than legit folks. Ebay transactions get cancelled because someone stole someone else's info and bought your item. Grailed is people making you offers and then getting mad if you don't accept. Seems like the more hyped the item the more sketchy people it attracts, not sure if anyone else feels the same...
