[DISCUSSION] When is it “streetwear”, and when is it not?

Posted: 30 Nov 2018 01:15 PM PST

This argument comes up a lot in threads, so I wanted to ask here. Streetwear is a category of Fashion, which suggests that there are certain styles and looks that fall into the category. Similar to Hip-Hop, or Jazz being a category of Music. There are specific elements that allow a song to be categorized, even if it can fall into multiple categories. The same applies to an outfit. Yes, fashion evolves and styles change, but shouldn't the outfits here still exemplify streetwear and at least show influences from earlier styles? Otherwise, this could very well be a general fashion forum.

These outfits are great, but the looks don't necessarily encompass "streetwear".

Anyone wanna help me find a streetwear brand that I vaguely remember? [Discussion]

Posted: 30 Nov 2018 07:51 PM PST

I remembered a streetwear brand i saw a couple months ago on tumblr but now I cant remember the name of it for the life of me. What i remember is: - they had a small selection - one of their shirts was a bunch of outlines of small animals - its in someway popular - their clothes have a very soft aesthetic - other than that nothing else but i think it had a japanese name?

Does anyone know a brand that sounds somewhat like this?

[Discussion] Has the quality of Anti Social Social Club gotten better?

Posted: 30 Nov 2018 08:27 PM PST

I remember hearing that they were Gildan and I've heard horror stories of shipping taking months. Is this still true or have they changed for the better? I really like some of their designs and I think I could bear it being Gildan but I'm not willing to wait months for a hoodie. I really hope that ASS Club has gotten better

[DISCUSSION] Are you supposed to wear a shirt under this?

Posted: 01 Dec 2018 04:14 AM PST

It sounds like an incredibly stupid question, but I have been pics of people wearing it both without a shirt and with one. I can't decide since it's like a polo and a sweatshirt in one.

[DISCUSSION] Printed pants at non high-end prices?

Posted: 30 Nov 2018 06:41 PM PST

Pretty much the title, looking for trousers/jeans (not joggers) with prints/designs on them that aren't just done by high end brands. Trousers like this, this or this. Thanks in advance.

[DISCUSSION] New Winter Jacket

Posted: 30 Nov 2018 05:34 PM PST

I know, another winter jacket suggestion thread...

My budget is around $850 US but willing to stretch it a bit if I can get exactly what I want.

I am interested in a black/dark colored down insulated bomber with black fur (think Acne Hydra Bomber) or the Supreme x TNF Expedition Jacket. Canada Goose is also on my radar but I am highly opposed to getting one because everyone and their mothers has one so i'd want a different brand/jacket that's better, unless CG comes out with new models.

I'd like to know:

What is everyone's thoughts on the TNF Expedition jacket vs. Canada Goose? Shell vs. down/insulated. Are both worth their respective price?

And what jacket would you suggest if I am looking for something that is better than Canada Goose in terms of warmth and looks that fits my criteria of a black/dark bomber with black fur?

Moncler is a bit outside my budget right now and I already have a puffer so I don't really want the shiny puffer look that Moncler is known for.

I looked around at Mackage and Moose Knuckle and they look decent but I am unsure if those brands trump Canada Goose in terms of quality and warmth. I heard Moose Knuckle jackets are not completely made in Canada. How is the quality/warmth betwen Mackage and CG?

Ideally i'm hoping I can find something similar to the Acne Hydra Bomber in black/graphite bomber style with black fur. And finally if I am spending this much I would want something where I BIFL.

EDIT: Doesn't need to be black fur. Black or grey would be fine.

EDIT: I've been narrowing things down. How is the Supreme x TNF Expedition Jacket vs. Mackage Dixon-X vs. CG x OVO 2010 black unisex chilliwack bomber? That's the only CG i'm sort of considering. Would it be smarter to get the Expedition or CGxOVO due to resale demands?

Any suggestions and advice? Thank you.

I've always been into the vapourware style a recently saw ads for public space popping up. I just want to know if they are of good quality and if not, if there is anything similar. I saw that it got good reviews but I wanted another opinion

[DISCUSSION] Searching for something

Posted: 30 Nov 2018 10:01 PM PST

Yesterday I saw a foreigner wearing hypebeast t shirt, I was wondering what's the brand.

Details of the t shirt:

It has a hoodie, so basically it's a hooded t shirt

It has side bands on it's sleeves

The words on the side bands says "Forever Young" and "Latitude"

[DISCUSSION] Quality of UrbanOutfitters Graphic tees?

Posted: 30 Nov 2018 05:13 PM PST

Hey,

Just wondering but what is the quality of Urban Outfitteres graphic tees? I hear some mixed things.

Some people say that they are trash that fades quickly, while others say that they last for years.

For example lets say I buy this shirt. (Just randomly chose this one, nothing about it in particular) would the quality be good?

Or would it fade and tear after the first wash?

Thanks!
