[DISCUSSION] What ever happened to Obey? Posted: 17 Jun 2018 02:36 PM PDT Out of curiosity, I'd love to understand where the brand went wrong. A couple of years ago, Obey was a very hot brand (although not a very high-end one). They had some nice pieces and we used to find them everywhere on inspo pictures. In my opinion, they failed to evolve with the times and stuck to a more general public. Don't get me wrong, I don't think the brand is trash or anything like that, but I feel like they could have done better. [Discussion] Did YEEZY infrastructure finally out-produce resellers? 500s a mere 25% markup Posted: 17 Jun 2018 07:10 AM PDT Or is it more of a taste/interest thing (specifically with the very different bulk on the 500s)? I'd consider myself a fairly casual follower of fashion blogs, but I've seen so much coverage of chunky sneakers over the past year that I'd be surprised to hear that the lower prices are simply due to demand. Even the more recent 350 V2s are just under $400 which leads me to guess that it is strongly influenced by pairs produced (and I know that, at least anecdotally, V2 quantities have more than tripled since the Black Friday releases). I've tried searching info on quantities of 500s to get a better understanding of the forces at work, but haven't been able to find much. Even if local raffles remain difficult to win, have we reached the point where a sub-$50 markup means most YEEZY drops will remain easy to come by (at least immediately following the release)?
