Our stance on pointless negative comments. Posted: 27 Aug 2018 08:57 PM PDT To reiterate what the mod /u/13ae was saying. We will be taking a harsher stance towards pointlessly negative comments that provide nothing of sustenance to the conversation. These comments will be falling under Rule 3. We, as mods, want to encourage posters and commenters to create a positive environment for growth. Of course we won't be removing all negative comments, just pointless ones. It's one thing to not like an outfit, but it's the way in which you express you're distate. For example: "This ain't it chief." or "That's gonna be a no from me dawg." Simply commenting that doesn't provide any constructive criticism for people viewing the post or the original poster. These copy paste negative comments discourage users from posting and are detrimental to productive conversation. Again if you dislike an outfit, that's perfectly fine but provide some reasoning as to why you don't like it. To the people arguing about "What about pointless positive comments?". This exact argument happened a few months ago and a user explained it really well. When there is a pointless positive comment such as "Nice outfit" or "Looks good", while the comment isn't providing much at all to the conversation. It's at least providing the original poster with good vibes. There is already plenty of negative shit in this world, let's atleast try to make r/streetwear a more positive place. We're open to all criticism, please provide it here. [link] [comments]

[DISCUSSION] What Makes A Brand? Other Than Clothing?? Posted: 27 Aug 2018 09:01 PM PDT What Makes A Brand? Other Than Clothing?? Ok so this dead sub's 2 favorite things are 1. japanese brands with no graphics and 2. Off-White. Both of these have something in common but moreso the japanese brands because literally all they have to separate them from kmart tees is the quality of material and colors, butwhat does off white add experience wise? Obviously brands aren't just clothing, but I'm asking this community which branding aspects appeal to them. An example I would bring up is Off-white making some of their graphics look like industrial blueprints. The root of my question is: What other than literally seeing the look of he product itself does the brand do for you? Don't take this as hate I actually like the brands a lot I just want more of the experience added. And not just off white either but let's say louis vuitton how they have the mirror with their logo cut out of it or the ambiance of a gucci store or the 3d interactive grapics on Ian connors revenge x storm or even seeing the huge line outside of Supreme and wanting to buy it. what about brands(other than literally just the clothes themselves) adds to the expeience for you and makes you want to buy? Commenting "this ain't it chief" will result in a ban Posted: 27 Aug 2018 01:12 PM PDT because it annoys me. your parents didn't put food on your table for 14 years for you to parade the fact that you have 20 operational brain cells on the internet. Edit: also because it adds nothing to actual discussion. This phrase, as well as any similar phrases that basically patronize content you don't like without adding to the discussion, will count towards your 3 strikes under rule 2/3 and spam. [DISCUSSION] Looking To Create A Lookbook/Magazine/Something To Showcase Fits Posted: 27 Aug 2018 04:59 PM PDT Gonna be a senior in HS, and have to do a year long "senior project". One of the first things I thought of was creating some kind of book that would show a bunch of fits from me and my friends throughout the year. Modern fashion has always been of large interest to me since I discovered this subreddit, so I thought it would be a good choice. The idea would be really cool if I did a good job, but i'm gonna need a lot of guidance to get there. Anyone have any advice/inspo for this type of thing? Thanks in advance [link] [comments]
[Discussion] Anyone have a North Face parka, how do they fit? Posted: 27 Aug 2018 12:36 PM PDT I really want to buy a parka jacket for winter, so I'm trying to get one now while there are sales. I'm looking at the tnf Gotham parka or a second hand Ice parka (not for sale anymore online). I'm normally a medium in jackets as I'm 6ft 1 and not really skinny but I can only find the jackets for a good price in a Small. I've heard you should downsize with parkas but im not sure, does anyone on here have a tnf parka and would you say they are TTS or size down? Thanks [link] [comments]

[Discussion] How do I dress like a fuckboy in 2018? Posted: 28 Aug 2018 02:25 AM PDT I use to follow Justin Bieber back when he was layering his clothing in 2015-2016ish. As of right now, I've been lagging behind and Im not sure what is in and what makes you a fuckboy in 2018, clothing-wise. Who should I follow for fuckboy wear? How do I figure out whats "in". I want to dress a way where girls just look at you and "fuckboy". Much appreciated for any help. Having a hard time figuring this out. [link] [comments]
Posted: 27 Aug 2018 08:04 AM PDT here is a picture of them. What's the general consensus on this sub about these? Do people like them? The main difference on this pair seems to be that they don't feature the worn in/distressed look that the $1000 retail pair did. Anyone know anything more about these? I don't really know what to do with them but it's cool to have. I thought this sub would be interested in them especially because they're samples. Thought I could gain some more insight on them/what to do with them. let me know what you guys think. Personally I wouldn't wear them. [link] [comments]
