[DISCUSSION] Careers in Fashion/Streetwear?

Posted: 29 Aug 2018 04:49 PM PDT

Going into my second year of college, I'm starting to think about what I really want to do career-wise as I have to declare a major this year. I know I'd like to merge fashion and business somehow, but I haven't pinpointed it exactly yet. Right now I'm thinking of maybe running a sales agency for small streetwear brands.

Do you guys want to work in the fashion industry yourselves or is this just a hobby for many of you? What career paths are you guys thinking of taking? Owning a brand? Creative Director? Photographer? Fashion Designer? Buyer?

To those already working in the industry, what are some jobs that users may not be aware exist?

[DISCUSSION] Leisure/Swim Shorts

Posted: 29 Aug 2018 01:30 PM PDT

I came across these guys browsing through Instagram. Cut and sew shorts that are swim/leisure shorts. Are there any other brands that do this and/or does anyone have experience with this brand? Seems like a sweet idea to go from the pool to out and about in the same shorts or just wear them casually with a tee. It sounds like a good idea, but could you actually pull it off?

[DISCUSSION] Does anyone know where I can get the Carhartt WIP Nimbus pullover winter version in Norway?

Posted: 29 Aug 2018 02:07 PM PDT

Ok so the official Carhartt website doesn't ship to norway, but ships to every other freakin country of course, so i have to find another website to buy it from. No norwegian websites sell it either from what i've seen after searching for a long time. So does anyone know any alternative websites that probably ship to norway and is legit? Also i have to have 100 words or else the post gets deleted so i might as well ask what size u guys recommend for a 5'11 130 lbs skinny guy? But yeah i need a website and it would be nice if it's not like grailed or something scary where i have to buy used and from real people and stuff if u know what i mean. So yeah. Carhartt WIP Nimbus Pullover Winter version to norway. Sorry that this post is ridiculously dumb and stuff but 100 words ain't easy. i've tried three times to post but every time i break a new rule. I even asked in simple questions thread but that shit ain't getting answered. Ok. Thanks in advance. Please don't break any rules now post

[DISCUSSION] How to style football shirts

Posted: 29 Aug 2018 08:56 AM PDT

So recently I got a hold of this Boca Juniors home shirt (not really a fan of the club just like the design of the shirt). I'm looking for some inspo on how to match it with other stuff specially when it gets colder in the year. Right now when I wear it I use black jeans and my Nemeziz shoes like so, and I wanna use it in different fits and also stuff for winter but I don't have any ideas rn. Suggestions?

Goros Pendant-- Need Help Finding a Chain!

Hello all, so I recently picked up a Goros Arrowhead Pendant very very similar to the one in the picture below. I need your help picking out a chain similar to the one that I will attach in this picture that a friend of mine sent me. The one in this picture is an authentic Goros chain but I am not looking to spend over 500 dollars for any chain, please help me find one that looks similar to this but is a cheaper alternative that is still good quality!

[DISCUSSION] Basketball shorts for daily wear

Posted: 29 Aug 2018 05:30 AM PDT

I'm looking for shorts like Jordan's adidas Nike whatever. I think basketball shorts? But it seems like all shorts now are so damn thin they're basically see through. I got a couple dri fits and they're just too thin my dick flops and it's basically NSFW. so I'm looking for I guess something more like double layered? And you know breathable fabric I don't think the tech fleece is for me either just like the normal gym shirt material. Any help?

[DISCUSSION] List of streetwear stores in dubai

Posted: 29 Aug 2018 04:43 AM PDT

I know how hard it is to find some decent streetwear around here so I am going to make a list of stores/websites/Instagram pages.

Harvey Nichols at Mall of the Emirates: mostly designer stuff like Gucci, kenzo, off white, Balenciaga, givenchy, comment de garcons, etc.

Bloomingdale's: similar to Harvey Nichols. Never been there so I am not sure about the brands but I am assuming it is the same designer stuff.

Worthydxb in city walk: This place is worth a visit. The guy managing the store is a really chill guy. Gosha, misbhv, Alexander Wang, places+faces are some of the brands available here. They also had a supreme drop sometime back in march.

Concepts on city walk: mainly a sneaker centric store but has a bunch of cool brands like stussy and huf. They got a bunch of Grail shoes and do drops for most sneakers like the off white Nike collab and yeezys.

LE66 on city walk: this is french boutique styled store and hours brands like the common projects and Yeezy season. They also got a ton of cool tshirts and worth checking out.

LA rags on la mer: never been here so no idea about what to expect in the store.

Amongst few on Jumeirah road: a sneaker store with their own clothing line. Good to support some indigenous brands.

Urbanhousedxb in Europe part of global village: they have reps of hypebeast clothing but run their own website too with their own brand clothing. Website:urbanhousedxb.com

Dubai design district: has a couple of stores with some cool streetwear. No store name but it is fairly pricey stuff. But this is the best stuff you can find around here. Brands like Rick Owens and Y3 can be found here.

@Flexxheaven.dxb on Instagram: these guys got a lot of hyped clothing but they are a bit sus so would advice LCing before buying

@adshoeplugs: these guys operate out of Abu Dhabi. They got supreme, bape and a lot of sneakers.

@thepluguae on Instagram: they have supreme and bape but be ready to Shell out more than resale price on these.

@strxhusxle on Instagram: homegrown streetwear and also a sneaker store. They tons of give aways so watchout on them.

The good life store in Al quoz 1: sneaker store with tons of Grails and drops. Currently doing the solarhu raffle.

Rage store: they are a skateboard store but also sell streetwear like rip n dip and Adidas originals.

Upclassics.com: brands like stussy, Huf, Chinatown market and the hundreds. Also doubles as a sneaker website.

Soledxb: Dubai's answer to the sneaker con. Checkout their website or Instagram page for details.

Levels in Dubai Mall: sneaker stores with Grail shoes. Cool concepts and worth a visit.

Hype talk middle East group on Facebook: by far the best place to buy resale. Reasonably priced and a very active group and nice community. You can cop pretty much anything on here.

I will try to update this thread with anything else that I may have missed out.
